ADAM8 Antibody (MA5-23870) in WB
Western blot analysis of ADAM8 in recombinant human ADAM8 aa 158-497 . Samples were incubated in ADAM8 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-23870) using a dilution of 1 µg/mL followed by a HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG secondary antibody. A specific band was detected for ADAM8 aa158-497 at approximately 40 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions.

In Western blots, less than 5% cross-reactivity with the ectodomains of recombinant human ADAM9, 10, 15, 17, and 19 is observed. This antibody detects an epitope within aa 201-497 of recombinant human ADAM8 which corresponds to the metalloprotease and disintegrin-like domains.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.

This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene may be involved in cell adhesion during neurodegeneration, and it is thought to be a target for allergic respiratory diseases, including asthma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
