DJ-1 Antibody in Immunocytochemistry (ICC/IF) — Immunofluorescence analysis of DJ-1 in HeLa cells. Samples were incubated with DJ-1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116502). Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.

DJ-1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot analysis of DJ-1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with DJ-1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116502) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.

DJ-1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot analysis of DJ-1 in extracts from normal (control) and DJ-1/PARK7 knockout (KO) 293T cells. Samples were incubated with DJ-1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116502) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 3s.

The product of this gene belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription. It may also function as a redox-sensitive chaperone, as a sensor for oxidative stress, and it apparently protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
