Flow Cytometry analysis of CD99 using CD99 Monoclonal Antibody (MEM-131), PE (Product # MA1-10315)revealed the expression profiling on peripheral blood subsets. The HCDM CDMaps standardized procedures were employed for cell isolation and surface staining of blood leukocytes, with a modified staining protocol using cytometry test tubes. This antibody reacts with CD99R, an extracellular epitope restricted to a subset of CD99 molecule expressed on myeloid cells, NK cells and T lymphocytes.

CD99 (E2, MIC2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is involved in regulation of T cell addhesive properties and programmed cell death distinct from typical apoptosis course. CD99 roles are specific to certain stages of T cell differentiation such as corticothymocytes. CD99R isoform expression is restricted in the haematopoietic system to T, NK and myeloid cells.
