RAN Antibody (PA5-29926) in WB

Western blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of NIH/3T3 (Lane 1), Jurkat (Lane 2), U-87 MG (Lane 3) and Hep G2 (Lane 4). The blot was probed with Anti-RAN Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-29926, 1:500 dilution) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 0.25 µg/mL, 1:4,000 dilution). A 24 kDa band corresponding to RAN was observed across the cell lines tested.

Ran (ras-related nuclear protein) is a small GTP binding protein belonging to the RAS superfamily that is essential for the translocation of RNA and proteins through the nuclear pore complex. The Ran protein is also involved in control of DNA synthesis and cell cycle progression. Nuclear localization of Ran requires the presence of regulator of chromosome condensation 1 (RCC1).
