This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-56390. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

HOPX is an atypical homeodomain protein which does not bind DNA and is required to modulate cardiac growth and development. HOPX acts via its interaction with SRF, thereby modulating the expression of SRF-dependent cardiac-specific genes and cardiac development. HOPX prevents SRF-dependent transcription either by inhibiting SRF binding to DNA or by recruiting histone deacetylase (HDAC) proteins that prevent transcription by SRF. HOPX overexpression causes cardiac hypertrophy and may act as a tumor suppressor.
