GABRA2 Antibody (PA1-4713) in WB
Western blot of GABRA2 in mouse brain lysates from wild type and alpha 2-knockout animals showing specific immunolabeling of a band at ~51 kDa corresponding to the alpha 2-subunit of the GABRA2 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-4713). The labeling was absent from a lysate prepared from alpha 2-knockout animals.

PA1-4713 is specific for the ~51k alpha-2-subunit of the GABAA receptor. In Western blot, labeling is absent in alpha-2-subunit knockout animals.
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, human, non-human primate and Zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.

GABA is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain where it acts at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels. Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor. At least 16 distinct subunits of GABA-A receptors have been identified. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
