GLUT2 Antibody (MA5-23807) in WB
Western blot was performed using anti-Glut2 monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-23807) on tissue extracts (30 µg lysate) of Rat liver (Lane1), Rat spleen (Lane 2), Rat heart (Lane 3), and Rat kidney (Lane 4) and 57.49 kDa band corresponding to GLUT2 protein was observed in Rat liver and Rat kidney but not in Rat spleen and Rat heart. This antibody recognizes mouse Glut2-transfected NS0 cells but not NS0 control transfectants. This antibody also detects Glut2 on mouse insulinoma beta TC-6 cells.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Glucose transporter 2 isoform is an integral plasma membrane glycoprotein of the liver, islet beta cells, intestine, and kidney epithelium. It mediates facilitated bidirectional glucose transport. Because of its low affinity for glucose, it has been suggested as a glucose sensor. Mutations in the gene that encode this protein cause Fanconi-Bickel syndrome.
