GST Tag Antibody (PA1-982A) in WB
Western blot analysis of GST was performed by loading 25 µg of 293t cells transfected with GST-MART1 (lane 1), HepG2 cells (lane 2) and 293t cells transfected with 12Tag (lane 3) onto an SDS polyacrylamide gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked at 4ºC overnight. GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26kDa protein, present in eukaryotes and in prokaryotes, where they catalyze a variety of reactions. Glutathione Stransferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system. This GST-fusion protein can then be purified from cells via its high affinity for glutathione. Fusion Proteins offer an important biological assay for direct protein-to-protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.
