Rat IgG1 kappa Isotype Control (58-4301-81) in Flow
C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with CD4 Monoclonal Antibody, APC (Product # 17-0041-82) and staining buffer (left) or 0.125 µg of Rat IgG1 kappa Monoclonal Antibody, Alexa Fluor 532 (right). Cells in the lymphocyte gate were used for analysis.

Description: The monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
Applications Reported: This EBRG1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: This rat IgG1 isotype Control antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells. Isotype control should be used at the same concentration as experimental antibody.
Alexa Fluor 532 is excited with the Green laser (532 nm) and emits at 561 nm. This cannot be used with the Yellow-Green laser (561 nm). We recommend using a 560/14 band pass filter. Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochrome.

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies that are commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are produced by rats in response to an antigen and can be purified from serum or hybridoma cell culture supernatants. Rat IgG1 is often used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is also used in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens. Gene targeting is a powerful tool used to manipulate the rat genome and generate animal models for studying human diseases. With gene targeting, specific genes can be knocked out, inserted, or modified to investigate their role in disease pathogenesis.
