Lane 1: human colon carcinoma lysates Lane 2: mouse thymus lysates probed with Anti SEPT1 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-7769R) at 1:200 in 4°C. Followed by conjugation to secondary antibody (bs-0295G-HRP) at 1:3000 90 min in 37°C. Predicted band 40 kD. Observed band size: 40 kD.

Septin 1 (SEPT1) is a member of the septin family of GTPases. Members of this family are required for cytokinesis and the maintenance of cellular morphology. This gene encodes a protein that can form homo- and heterooligomeric filaments, and may contribute to the formation of neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found but the full-length nature of these variants has not been determined.
