This p73 antibody reacts with an epitope that is located on the N-terminal region of human p73 and does not cross react with p53. The p73 protein may run at 63 kDa in some cell lines due to post-transcriptional modifications.

P73 (TP73) participates in the apoptotic response to DNA damage. Isoforms containing the transactivation domain are pro-apoptotic, isoforms lacking the domain are anti-apoptotic and block the function of p53 and transactivating p73 isoforms. May be a tumor suppressor protein.
