The avidin horseradish peroxidase is commonly used as a second step for detection of biotinylated antibodies by ELISA and western blot. Avidin binds to biotin with high affinity. [Note: Sodium azide is an inhibitor of horseradish peroxidase enzymatic activity and should not be added to the AV-HRP diluent.]
