HAAKE™ Rheomex OS Twin-Screw Extruder for the HAAKE™ PolyLab™ OS Torque Rheometer System is available either as a parallel twin-screw extruder or a conical twin-screw extruder and attaches via a plug-and-play connection to the modular HAAKE Polylab Rheodrive OS. With a small sample quantity, customers can simulate production processes, investigate rheological and substance-specific properties, and test, and inspect new formulations.
The HAAKE Rheomex CTW 100 OS is a conical counter-rotating Twin-Screw Extruder that can be used for a wide range of tasks in laboratories and pilot plants when used together with specially designed screws with differing geometries. The conical twin-screw extruder is used for high-shear compounding of materials such as PVC, wood fiber compounding, and blending of polymers with different viscosities. A wide range of applications can be performed using different designed screw to adapt to the needs of the laboratory or pilot plant. The counter-rotating design supplies a positive material displacement from the hopper to the die, delivering high levels of pressure and shear, while allowing control of residence times.
The HAAKE Rheomex PTW 16 or 24 parallel twin-screw extruders have screw diameter of 16 mm or 24 mm, respectively. The horizontally split barrel, with the top half fitting upward, allows easy inspection of the melting and mixing. Parallel twin-screw, small-scale compounder are used for instance for running early-stage compounding and blending tests. For optimization of this behavior, the screws can be configured individually with elements for conveying, mixing and kneading. The segmented top barrel half is constructed in easy to configure modules for feeding and venting.
